The heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, is a recount from a sailor named Marlow, reciting through his memory of his journey up the river. During his journey he learns more about himself and others and the human race. He travels up the river seeking a man named Kurtz. He eventually finds him.
Kurtz had went power mad, his hut surrounded by poles with impaled heads upon them. He is the ruler of the uncivilised and the greatest Ivory gatherer. The whole journey is about Marlow heading up the river. It is quite eventful and it is very dense. Conrad makes sure that you get every little detail.
